Kings XI Punjab’s Director of Cricket Operations Virender Sehwag was all praises for young Rishabh Pant who displayed a lot of character while playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Earlier this week, Rishabh Pant underwent an unfortunate incident after the demise of his late father. Pant’s father passed away in sleep after suffering from a heart attack. He rushed back to his hometown as soon as the news was broken down to him to be with his mother and sister.

After performing the final rituals of his father, he rejoined the Daredevils side to play against the Royal Challengers yesterday. The southpaw single-handedly threatened to chase down the score set by the Royal Challengers but unfortunately found no support from the other end. The Delhi Daredevils fell short of the required target by 15 runs but not before Pant made a point or two about his character.

Sehwag tweeted with the caption, “May God Bless you @RishabPant777 . More power to you. Om Shanti !” along with a note which came straight from the heart. The former Indian Test opener went on to wish that the left-hander would maintain his humility throughout his cricketing career. He also added that it requires a character of steel to go through such a personal loss and deliver with the bat instantaneously.

“Stepping on to a cricket field with such a huge loss itself requires a big big heart, and playing as well as Rishabh Pant did after the great personal loss just speaks of the stuff he is made of. May you maintain your humility and may God bless you Rishabh” read the note from Sehwag.

The Delhi Daredevils batting unit would also like to contribute with the bat alongside the left-hander who has been in supreme form this Ranji season. They are scheduled to take on Rising Pune Supergiant on April 11.
