The proliferation of the ongoing menace that is coronavirus COVID-19 has put the entire world into a lockdown. More than 11,000 people have died due to the pandemic and every day fresh cases are emerging in what is an unprecedented situation for the world.

From schools, colleges, offices to sporting events, everything has been put on a standstill, as people go into self-isolation in order to avert the spread of the virus. India’s reported case have crossed the 600-mark and the country is under a 21-day lockdown post Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on March 23.

With everyone under a lockdown, CricBuzz has come up with a new show titled ‘Strategic Time Out’ where former cricketers can be seen answering the questions on how they are spending their time during the quarantine phase.

The latest video is of former swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag. The video starts with Sehwag urging fans to follow the guidelines give by the authorities and to stay within the safe confines of their home.

“These are difficult times but we have to stay positive, stay strong and stay safe. Follow whatever the authorities are suggesting and this too shall pass. So, while I am in lockdown, I thought I’ll answer some questions; share your answers too and let’s keep spreading the joy? Sehwag said.

When asked about his favourite pastime while isolation, Sehwag replied that Spending time with family, playing Ludo, playing saapseedi, playing carrom board, playing with dogs, are his favourite pastimes currently.

Sehwag was also asked about the number of Sanitizers that he currently has at home. To which he said: “I have sanitizer for every room; for my guard room, for my servant room. So, I have around 12-13 sanitizers. Whoever comes to my home, they have to wash their hands first; if they don’t they have to use hand sanitizer”

When asked on whether he has been watching cricket videos of the past, Sehwag revealed that he has watched the highlights of a quite a few innings of his including his two triple-centuries, ODI double-hundred, while also mentioning that his debut Test hundred remains his favourite.

“I think since the lockdown, I have watched a lot of my innings which I played in the past. I think I watched 319 [vs South Africa in 2008], 309 [vs Pakistan in 2004], 219 [vs West Indies in a 2011 ODI], 119 [in the IPL] and I watched my Test debut hundred [vs South Africa in Bloemfontein in 2001] and I watched a couple of my IPL innings of 40-50 runs, but my favourite one is my Test debut hundred- that is close to my heart,” he said.

Sehwag also revealed the movies that he has watched during the lockdown, while also mentioning his favourite quarantine partners.

“I think I watched a couple of movies. Commando 03 I watched recently. I watched a couple of English movies as well, I watched Mission Impossible. I am waiting for Baaghi 03. The moment it comes on Netflix or any other platform, I’ll watch that also, and Street Dancer 03, I watched with my kids and wife,” Sehwag said.

He added: “ Ajay Jadeja or Zaheer Khan, these are the two that are my favourite currently because I’m working with them. Both are really good, especially Jadeja, who is very talkative and Zaheer Khan loves to listen. He has a very good brain, “
