Virender Sehwag has been on the receiving end of the youth’s frustrations after he made a futile attempt to calm things down in the Gurmehar Kaur case. His tweet seemingly did not go down too well with many including the likes of MP Shahi Tharoor who lashed out at the former Indian batsman. However, while Sehwag has taken it on the chin for the most part, the fact is that many have differing and contrasting views on the same.
Umar Khalid, a student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, and someone who has been fighting for the leftist propaganda has been quite outspoken in his views against Sehwag. In a Facebook post, Khalid went ahead and stated that Sehwag was one contracted to the BCCI.
While this is certainly something debatable in most cases, the fact is that Sehwag is a legend of Indian cricket. Of course, he can be one to falter at times with his speech and with his bat, but the manner in which he has remained silent so far shows a sliver of his character to say the least. Khalid has also stated that those sticking to social media trolls are the ones who were ‘mere cowards’ and ones who did not have the guts to come out on the street to fight for a cause.
Gurmehar Kaur’s ‘Soldiers for Peace’ has gone viral in recent times with a lot of traction coming from the Delhi University and the JNU campus as well.

“Virender Sehwag played for BCCI, he does not represent India. The thousands of students and teachers who came out in Delhi University today, they represent India – a vision of a new India based on equality, justice and freedom,” Khalid posted on Facebook.
