Match Details:

The South Group game in the Vitality T20 Blast 2019 will be played between Glamorgan and Hampshire at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

The match starts at 7:00 PM local time (11:00 PM IST) (6:00 PM GMT).

Preview:

Glamorgan’s disastrous T20 Blast campaign will end on last day of the Group Stage when they host Hampshire at the Sophia Gardens. The Colin Ingram-led side has failed to win even one game this season. They lost as many as eight out of nine completed matches as four games ended without a result. The only time they came close to a win was during the Tied match against Gloucestershire.

They have now spent 14 Twenty20 matches since the last season without a win. This is the longest winless streak in T20s for any English domestic team.  They will hope to finish on high and also spoil Hampshire’s top 4 chances. Hampshire will need to win this match to stay alive in the race of quarters. If Essex manages to get better of Kent in Chelmsford, Hampshire will finish in top 4 of South Group.

Weather Condition/Report:

Sophia Gardens was under the clouds on the eve of the match between Glamorgan and Hampshire. However, the forecast on Friday is much better. Barring spells of rain in the afternoon, the skies are expected to clear throughout the day.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Sophia Gardens in Cardiff has been a perfect venue for chasing teams. The teams batting second have been unbeaten across the five completed matches this season. Those five games involve two comfortable 170+ chases. Another high-scoring track is expected for the final match of the season.

Average first innings score: 163 (In T20 Blast 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Tied – 1

Expert Advice:

One of the main reasons to prefer the top-order batsmen in both teams for this game is the deck at the Sophia Gardens. The venue is likely to produce a belter and there are not many all-rounders who can succeed with the bat across the two teams especially Glamorgan.

Probable Winners:

Hampshire might leave Glamorgan winless in this T20 Blast season.
