The South Group game in the Vitality T20 Blast 2019 will be played between Hampshire and Surrey at the Rose Bowl, Ageas Oval in Southampton.
The match starts at 7:00 PM local time (11:30 PM IST) (6:00 PM GMT).
This game will be streamed live on Hampshire County Cricket’s YouTube channel.
This has been that sort of a season for Hampshire where they haven’t been really able to gather the momentum. After two consecutive losses early in the tournament, they seemed to be back on track when they won three games in a row. However, they soon gave up on this flow and lost another three games in a row as they head into their next encounter against Surrey.
The campaign for Surrey hasn’t been great either. They lost a few close games and their bowling hasn’t really helped this season. However, they have got the momentum on their side since they won their previous game against Glamorgan. That will keep them in a good space as they head into this crucial win and they will need a win at all costs to keep their chances alive in the tournament.
Up to 9 PM, the chances of rain are in excess of 90 per cent. It won’t get much better after that either and thus rain could play a spoilsport in this match.
The Ageas Oval track has behaved strangely this season. In most games here at this venue this season, low scores were witnessed and batting seemed to be tough. But in the last match, Somerset managed to get a total in excess of 200. Thus, it all boils down to the application and analysis of conditions at this venue.
Average first innings score: 165.84 (Last 13 completed games in the T20 Blast 2019)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 6, Lost – 7, Tied – 0
