Vodafone ZooZoos will be back to entertain the fans during IPL 2018

The eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be underway in a few days. While the cricket on the pitch is slated to play a big part, the exciting and engaging advertisement campaigns surrounding the event can’t be dismissed. The tournament is seen as a massive opportunity by companies to garner to the masses who follow the league religiously.

Telecom giant Vodafone has been associated with the IPL from the second season of the T20 league and have invested in it for the last ten seasons. However, they have opted out of the league and won’t be a part of this edition of the T20 extravaganza. However, the ZooZoos are set to mark their return, despite Vodafone’s disengagement.

The brand was first introduced in the IPL back in 2009 and has grown in stature in the commercial world ever since and hence can have a market of their own. Recently, Siddharth Banerjee, the Executive Vice President – Marketing, Vodafone interacted with the media with regards to the strategies, they are going to implement with the ZooZoos.

“We wanted to communicate an interesting new proposition we have for consumers which is ‘Happy to Help.’ Traditionally Zoozoos have been associated with cricket season. Consumers have been asking about them. So in keeping with the topicality of our campaign break, we are bringing them back in a brand-new Ninja avatar. They are quick, agile and efficient, much like our service experience, enabled by the digital transformation initiatives at Vodafone India,” Banerjee was quoted as saying by Excahnge4media.

The VP also admitted that the IPL has been an immense prospect for the promotion of the brand. “This is a major campaign for us. It’s gold-level. It will play across all leading television channels,” he added. The opening game of the season will be played on April 7 between the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium.
