The former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram celebrated his 52nd birthday on Sunday in England. He is currently in the UK to cover the two-match Test series between the hosts and Pakistan. The series concluded on the third day itself as the visitors lost the game at Headingley by an innings and 55 runs. Meanwhile, Akram’s birthday was celebrated by his colleagues as he cut the cake with Waqar Younis and Rameez Raja also beside him. However, Waqar has come up with an apology now for not respecting Ramadan and breaking the fast.

Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief. But the former cricketers cut the cake and also had it which meant they broke the fast after which Waqar realised his mistake. He felt that they should’ve respected the feelings of the people who were fasting during the holy month.

He came up with an apology tweet for his fans which read, “Apologise to everyone for cutting cake on Waseem Bhai’s birthday yesterday..We should have respected Ramadan and the people who were fasting. It was a poor act on our behalf #SORRY.”

Even Rameez Raja had faced a lot of criticism from his fans for having an orange juice during the Ramzan according to Pakistan Today. He was recording a video for his Youtube channel and attraced the ire of the fans after which he also apologised on social media and had clarified that he was not fasting due to his medical condition. But he admitted his mistake and stressed that the sentiments of his viewers are of utmost importance for him.
