The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) started on a thrilling note with the opening match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The first game saw RCB outplaying Mumbai by two wickets and adding two points under their belt in the points table. After a nail-biting first game, Delhi Capitals will be up against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Ahead of the much-awaited clash between MS Dhoni and Delhi’s newly-appointed skipper Rishabh Pant, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer took to his Twitter handle to give advice to both the teams. The batting coach of the IPL franchise Punjab Kings, who is known for his wit and humor, tweeted a coded message as he picked two players to watch out.
“Picking 2 players to watch out for tonight. I’ll reveal the names in the evening, but let’s see how many decode it before that #CSKvDC #IPL2021” the 43-year-old tweeted

Fans try to decode the message by Wasim Jaffer
While the fans could easily decode the player from Delhi Capitals, there was confusion regarding the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player as the cricket enthusiasts were not sure if the veteran was indicating towards Sam Curran. Jaffer picked Prithvi Shaw as the player to watch out for as the 21-year-old had a dream run in the last edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Shaw succumbed to a terrible run in the previous edition of IPL hosted in the United Arab Emirates. The right-hander could score just 228 runs from 13 games at an average of 17.53. This was followed by him getting axed from India’s Test XI after a poor performance in the first game against Australia.
However, Prithvi Shaw regained his form as he looked at his fluent best in the 2021 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and emerged as the highest run-getter with a whopping 827 runs including 4 centuries.
Sam Curran, on the other hand, was a revelation of the Super Kings in IPL 2020 and is expected to carry his good run in IPL 2021. Curran also looked in fine touch in the three-match ODI series against India as he gave a brilliant performance with the willow.
