Ravindra Jadeja better known on social media as Sir Jadeja has been in top form for Team India. He recently concluded the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India with 25 wickets, the most in the series where the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Nathan Lyon were also playing. He made a difference for the team with the bat as well scoring a couple of half centuries.

Jadeja has a special celebration for his fifties wherein he pulls his bat out like the sword of a Rajput warrior being a Rajput himself. He has learnt the art of swinging the sword in a particular pattern and is a crowd favorite. Indian skipper Virat Kohli also loves his celebration but more than that the fact that his allrounder gets the team valuable runs lower down the order.

He scored an important half century in the first inning of the Dharamsala Test, he walked out to bat when the bowlers were pressing hard and India were still under a deficit. Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha not only added a 94-run partnership but also ensured they wiped off the trail and took a handy 32-run lead. The 63-run knock and their stand proved to be game changing and gave Team India the advantage.

He has been a revelation for the team this season, as a bowler Jaddu has got out of Ravichandran Ashwin’s shadow and is no longer the second spinner in the team but a wicket-taker himself who the opposition needs to be wary of. Overall in the 2016/17 home season, the left-arm spinner picked as many as 71 wickets to end as the second highest just behind Ravi Ashwin. Meanwhile, he also completed 1000 Test runs and is now a match-winner on his own.

He was awarded the Man of the match for the last Test as well as the Man of the Series award for his allround show.
