Watch: Ishan Kishan gives fitting reply to Virat Kohli's verbal volley

The Royal Challengers managed to win against the Gujarat Lions in the encounter at Rajkot. GL batsman Ishan Kishan had managed to give a brief scare to the RCB towards the end of the run chase. Albeit the big battle was lost, Ishan managed to win the little on-field mini-battle against the RCB skipper Virat Kohli.

Apparently, when Ishan was firing in some big lusty blows towards the fag end of the run chase, a very miffed Kohli was seen sending in verbal volleys at the youngster. Kohli is known to carry his heart on the sleeve and hence it was not a surprise to see him take a dig at young Kishan.

The action perspired when Sreenath Arvind bowled a slower bouncer off to Ishan Kishan. Instead of playing the pull shot, the youngster totally failed to read the ball. He was disgusted at his own move after the ball was bowled. Kishan knew that the ball was there to be sent over the boundary ropes. It was just then that Kohli came in barging as he cheered his bowler.

In the process, some verbal shots were fired at the Jharkhand batsman. What followed next was all about the promising youngster. He looked absolutely unfazed with whatever had perspired and clobbered the very next delivery bowled by Sreenath Arvind. He hit a humongous six over deep square leg with a fine pull shot. Kishan did not use verbal shots to respond back to Kohli but rather made his bat do the talking.

Perhaps that is the right way every player must respond to the verbal volleys. In the match, the RCB had batted first and posted 213 runs on the board riding on fifties from Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. In the run chase, Gujarat Lions could only manage 191.
