Kane Williamson once again showed his amazing catching skills as he pulled out a stunner to send back his opponent team’s captain Faf du Plessis on the first day of the first Test match between South Africa and New Zealand at Durban.
South African innings was rebuilt by captain Faf du Plessis and Temba Bavuma after they lost 4 wickets with just 106 on the board. The duo put on a 54-run stand for the 5th wicket before Neil Wagner bowled the 3rd ball of 58th over. Du Plessis went for a drive on a ball thinking it as a fuller one but ended up getting a thick outside edge of a ball which was moving away from the batsman.
Ball went quickly towards gully region where the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson dived towards his right and grabbed the ball with one hand safely, pulling off a superb catch and made it look easy. The way Williamson dived and took the catch cleanly, it looked as if a goalkeeper was making saves at goal post in football.
Bavuma later put on a 48-run stand with De Kock but both the batsmen got out in quick space as the hosts ended the day at 236 for the loss of 8 wickets with 12 overs of play lost due to early stumps taken due to the bad light.
