Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav finally got the opportunity to realise his dream of representing the senior national team after he was included in the Playing XI of the final Test in Dharamsala at the expense of injured Indian captain Virat Kohli. The move of giving him the maiden break in pace friendly conditions baffled many critics but the team management felt he was the best bet.

Kuldeep has been in the reckoning of a national call-up for a long time and it was a big day for the Kanpur lad to realise his dream. He bowled his maiden over in Test cricket just before lunch interval on an opening day and never looked in any discomfort what so ever. He bowled in the right areas and impressed one and all with the two overs he bowled in the pre-lunch session.

The left-arm spinner came back in the 2nd session and got his maiden Test breakthrough when he induced a false shot from David Warner and was well held by Ajinkya Rahane at slip. He was clearly overjoyed after getting his maiden Test wicket and had tear in his eyes when he was hugged by Rahane.

It was a big moment for the 22-year-old but it was just the beginning of what was about to come. The tweaker removed Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell with unplayable deliveries. Handscomb was lured into the drive by Kuldeep but it breached through his defence and disturbed his timbers.

Next, it was the turn of a centurion from the previous match, Glenn Maxwell to head back to the pavilion. The delivery totally squared him up and hit the top of the off stump. It turned and bounced sharply to dislodge the bails. It has certainly been a dream debut for Kuldeep and he would look to continue his dream run.
