Watch: Misbah ul Haq’s luck save him from having an Afridi: The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 quarter-final number 3 between the co-hosts Australia and challenger Pakistan is underway. The Aussie pacers were expected to come good against a vulnerable Pak batting and so did they, in 5 over’s for just 24 runs on the board two of their batsmen were back in the pavilion.
Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq has been their savior in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, all that their batting has done can easily be credited to him. Misbah walked in 2 down and was facing the young, accurate Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood. Batting at none Hazlewood bowled it in to the stumps, early on in his innings the Pak skipper did not have the feel of the wicket and shuffled across to play it to the on side.

The ball skipped a meeting with the bat as well as Mibah’s pad’s and nicked the stumps. Hazlewood started celebrating the important wicket but by the time the ball went to Brad Haddin their wicket-keeper everyone realized that even though the ball had hit the stumps, the bails dislodged and settled back in the groove.
As per the rule for a batsman to be declared out the bails must be completely dislodged, they did not and the captain’s luck saved him from getting out for a duck on the important match. Though he could not make a huge difference and got out soon after getting a start for 34.
Aussie pacers were right on the money and did not let any of their batsmen get going to restrict Pakistan to a modest 213. At half way stage in the match, like the trend has been we are certainly heading towards another one sided quarter-final in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
