Virat Kohli’s gesture to Mohammad Amir during the post-match handshake was heartwarming to see. The left-arm fast bowler was extraordinary yesterday and created a storm with his bowling, snapping up 3/18 in the match to win the hearts of fans from both the country.
Virat Kohli and Mohammad Amir exchanging pleasantries was a perfect finish to the amazing game. Both cricketers were heroes for their respective teams.
But, this move from Kohli was not surprising at all. The Delhi dasher had already welcomed Amir and wished him best of luck ahead of the game. Virat also expressed his happiness regarding the latter’s superb show while talking in the in the post-match ceremony after receiving ‘Man of the Match’ award.
“I would like to congratulate Mohammad Amir for the way he bowled, I actually congratulated him while he was bowling. It was amazing to play such a spell,” Virat said.
Pakistan looked in a self-destructive mode yesterday after being put into bat. Indian bowlers took advantage of the seamer-friendly track and bowled them out for a humiliating 83 runs in just 17.3 overs.
There was no chance that Pakistan could claw back into the game. India were expected to finish the game within the first ten overs of the second innings. However, Amir produced a mesmerizing opening spell to leave the Indian top order jolted. He looked in no-nonsense mood and started with an unplayable yorker that crashed into Rohit Sharma’s toes.
The over was an eventful one and Amir ended up with two wickets off it. The Indians were 2/2. Raina looked to be uncomfortable against him and became his third victim. Seeing India struggling, Shahid Afridi bowled him unchanged.
