After India won the final match of the 5-match ODI series against India in West Indies, MS Dhoni celebrated his 36th birthday, as the entire team ensured the day turned out to be special. MSD was seen cutting the birthday cake in his hotel room in Jamaica. The snippet of the celebration was taken by the latest sensation of Indian Cricket Hardik Pandya, who was singing along to the birthday song.

The proclaimed successor of MSD, Rishabh Pant can be seen lighting the candles on his cake. Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni also did her bit by distantly singing along with birthday hymn. Many members for the Indian staff and other close associates of Dhoni were present for the occasion. By the looks of it, Dhoni was surprised by the group as he prepared himself for nap.

However, good wishes for the greatest captain in the history of Indian cricket is not only limited to the hotel room but also the entire nation poured in wishes all over social media. One also pondered about the approaching end to his glorious cricketing career as well. One has to question whats in the future of Indian cricket when the greatest finisher of Indian cricket hangs up his boots.

Dhoni, who turned 36 today, essentially has only a couple of years more to entertain us donning the Indian blues. It might be expected that the last assignment for Dhoni as a cricketer of the Indian Cricket Team would be the upcoming ICC World Cup of 2019. One doesn’t exactly know how the Indian middle order would look like once the monumental figure gives up the sport.

MS Dhoni, much like wine, turns better with age. He recently broke the record of Australian great Adam Gilchrist, as he becomes the second highest wicket keeper to have scored in One Day Cricket.
