Watch: Public fight over seat during KXIP v DD match in IPL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is nothing short on a festival. While the entire nation is going gaga over the hashtag ‘ek India happy wala’, the scenes at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali were not as happy as the tagline suggests.

In the recent encounter at Mohali, when Kings XI Punjab took on Delhi Daredevils, bizarre scenes perspired at the venue when a group of individuals indulged in a fight over the seats in the stand. The sight of the public fight soon turned ugly as the two groups of young men lashed out at one another. Just when the things started getting very intense, a police constable came in to control the feud.

He somehow managed to separate the two groups and the focus of the people then shifted back to the game. Such incidences are definitely not going to help the cause of the spirit of the game among the fans and viewers. One could only hope that such incidences of public fight do not happen too often.

In the match, it was Kings XI Punjab who handed the then 3^rd placed Delhi Daredevils a close defeat. The home crowd erupted in joy as the Kings XI got back to winning ways. Sparkling knocks from Marcus Stoinis and Wriddhiman Saha saw KXIP put up a decent total on the board. The Delhi Daredevils, with their openers at the crease, seemed to be cruising easily until the KXIP bowlers pulled the game back. Some excellent death bowling by Mohit Sharma and Sandeep Sharma saw Kings XI register their 3rd win of the season.
