Football is the most popular way among cricketers to loosen up before the practice session. Almost every team loves doing that and the English Cricket team is no different from that. Alastair Cook and Co. are currently in Edgbaston playing against Pakistan in the 3rd Test of the four-match series.

England began their preparation for the day three of the Tests with a short friendly game of football. The English squad divided itself into two parts. One team was headed by Moeen Ali while the Chris Woakes was made the skipper of the other team.

More excitement was added to the contest by commentators Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton and David Lloyd. While Hussain and Atherton performed the commentator’s duties the quirky Lloyd took up the responsibility of becoming the match referee.

The played with full enthuse and were vying for goals. Hussain added more spice with his lively commentating. It seemed like was a professional speaker of that sport as well. Short ended with a 1-1 score line. Both sides had one goal scorers each with decent finishes from Jonny Bairstow and Gary Ballance.

It was a good way to give a refreshing start to the day. Everyone enjoyed the mock game. Almost every member of the English cricketing fraternity follows Football passionately. Most of them are regularly seen tweeting about matches and events related to the game.

The home side after starting off well with the bat in the first innings we pushed slightly on the back foot after Pakistan gave a strong reply with the bat on day three. The game now looks to be in balance with both teams looking to get ahead of each other.
