After being reduced to 24-3 in 5.2 overs, the ship looked all set to sink for India. However, Kohli had other ideas. The RCB player decided to, once again, lead from the front like a true leader. He scored an unbeaten 77 from just 46 deliveries.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, he looked positive from ball one. He went on to score 72, which included nine boundaries. Despite his valiant efforts, his team fell short of 227 runs, and lost the first Test. Nevertheless, under his leadership, India did go on to win the series.

After being asked to bat first by Eoin Morgan, the then T20I captain opened the innings with Rohit Sharma. He looked like a man on a mission and went on hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. Ahmedabad witnessed him at his vintage best, as he went on to score an unbeaten 82.

Displaying his class, the batting genius went on to score 57 from 49 deliveries, which included five boundaries and a six. It was his sheer brilliance which propelled his team to a decent score of 151. However, his efforts went in vain as the Babar Azam-led side went on to chase the total in just 17.5 overs, without even losing a wicket.
