Punjab Kings looked strong at first, but dropped catches changed the game. Missed chances cost PBKS the match.
Aakash Chopra criticized Punjab’s fielding, questioning how an IPL team could drop so many key catches. His comments quickly caught fans’ attention online.
Chopra said, “Who drops so many catches? Easy catches win matches, but Punjab missed eight out of sixteen chances from Chahal alone.”
Chopra said so many catches aren’t dropped even in lower-level cricket. He pointed out that Connolly, Shashank, Ferguson, and Prabhsimran all missed easy chances during the match.
Chopra noted PBKS dropped Klaasen on 9 (he went on to score 60), dropped Ishan Kishan twice, and missed a stumping, calling their fielding very poor.
Punjab’s bowlers made chances, but dropped catches wasted their efforts. Poor fielding hurt PBKS more than their bowling against SRH.
This loss raises doubts about PBKS’s consistency. Can they afford costly mistakes if they want to win the IPL? They need to fix things fast before the tournament gets away.
