Pakistan’s loss to India in the Super Four stage has severely damaged their chances of making the final.
After the first round of Super Four matches, Pakistan sits at the bottom of the standings behind India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan must beat both Sri Lanka (Sept 23) and Bangladesh in their upcoming fixtures to stay in contention.
Even if Pakistan wins, they need to secure big-margin victories to improve their Net Run Rate (NRR).
Pakistan also needs Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to lose at least one match each for them to have a qualification chance.
A single defeat in their next two matches, especially against Sri Lanka, would almost certainly end Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2025 campaign.
