Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to retire like Kohli?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named its 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, leaving out senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Both Babar and Rizwan, once the backbone of Pakistan’s T20 side, have been consistently ignored since the last T20 World Cup.

Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed reacted strongly to their exclusion, suggesting that both players should announce retirement if they feel disrespected.

Tanvir cited Virat Kohli’s retirement from T20Is as an example, saying that dignity matters more than forced selection struggles.

Babar was once the No.1 ranked T20I batter and captained Pakistan in the last T20 World Cup, while Rizwan was also a consistent top-order performer.

With Pakistan moving towards a younger squad, the big question remains: should Babar and Rizwan follow Kohli’s path and retire from T20Is?
