Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has demanded that its 2026 T20 World Cup group matches be shifted outside India citing security concerns.
Bangladesh’s matches were scheduled at Eden Gardens (Kolkata) and Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
The T20 World Cup is an ICC event, and ticket, broadcast, and sponsorship revenues do not go directly to the BCCI.
BCCI’s earnings are limited to match-day surplus and local sponsorships only.
If Bangladesh’s matches are shifted, BCCI’s financial loss will be minimal, restricted to match-day economics.
ICC will bear the additional costs of travel, hotels, and logistics if matches are moved; BCCI will not incur extra expenses.
