A tense match between the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had fans excited, but one fielder’s night took a bad turn.
Karun Nair dropped an easy catch, letting Shreyas Iyer survive and shift the momentum. Soon after, he dropped another, giving Iyer two chances in quick succession.
After being dropped twice, Iyer grew confident, started attacking the bowlers, and went on to win the match.
Sehwag told Cricbuzz that Karun Nair’s drops were unacceptable, especially since he was only on the field as a substitute after KL Rahul left due to dehydration
Sehwag said it’s not okay to drop catches as a sub. If you miss chances in the field, the captain may decide not to pick you for matches.
Sehwag said if a key player drops catches, he might let it go. But if a sub wants to play and drops catches, that’s why he’s not getting picked.
Two dropped catches made a big difference. In cricket, it’s often the small moments that decide the outcome.
