Hardik Pandya will miss the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan after suffering a leg sprain during his recovery at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
The all-rounder had recently completed fitness tests and was cleared to return to ODI cricket before suffering the injury.
According to reports, Hardik sustained a low-grade leg sprain, prompting medical staff to advise rest and avoid strain for the next few days.
Hardik will remain at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and continue working with physios and trainers during rehabilitation.
The Mumbai Indians captain had already missed part of IPL 2026 due to a back injury and was aiming for an ODI comeback.
If recovery goes as planned, Hardik could return for India's ODI series against England scheduled later this year.
