England white-ball captain Harry Brook admits he lied about a nightclub incident in New Zealand to protect his teammates

The incident took place in Wellington on October 31, a day before England’s final ODI against New Zealand, when Brook was hit by a nightclub bouncer

Brook had initially claimed that he was alone at the time of the incident while trying to enter the nightclub

Reports later revealed that Jacob Bethell and Josh Tongue were present. Both players were fined and investigated by the cricket regulator

Brook admitted he lied to shield his teammates, apologised for his actions, and said he is learning from a challenging period in his career.

Brook was fined and given a final warning, while the ECB reviewed player conduct on tours, leading to stricter rules, including a midnight curfew
