The BCCI has launched a special initiative to prepare young cricketers to eventually replace legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
At just 14 years old, Vaibhav impressed in the IPL by becoming the youngest player to score a century, playing for Rajasthan Royals.
Vaibhav has been selected for advanced training at the National Cricket Academy, focusing on both technical skills and match temperament.
His coach Manish Ojha highlighted the need for Vaibhav to improve consistency in Test cricket despite his strong white-ball performances.
The program is partly driven by uncertainty over Kohli and Rohit’s international careers, which might conclude after the Australia tour.
The BCCI’s effort aims to groom young talents to secure the future of Indian cricket and achieve long-term success.
