Before the Zimbabwe T20Is, Aakash Chopra questioned whether India’s batting has become too one-dimensional without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Aakash Chopra said that with Rohit and Virat gone from T20s, only aggressive batters are left. He warned that India shouldn’t think attacking every ball is the only way to bat.
Chopra said that with Rohit and Virat gone, India talks about aggressive batting but has actually played very conservatively in recent games. He feels the team hasn’t shown its true potential.
Chopra said India is picking a team to play fearlessly, but questioned whether they can actually do it. He wants the team to truly dominate and prove they are better.
Chopra advised the new players to avoid risky shots and focus on building partnerships when needed.
Chopra said India can win if they mix smart batting with planned aggression, not just depend on big shots.
The Zimbabwe T20I series will show if India has balanced smart batting with fearless play.
