Aakash Chopra questioned India’s batting strategy after their disappointing T20I loss to Ireland.
He said India’s batters lacked intent and didn’t show the right attitude from the start.
“The catching was very poor. This team just won the World Cup, but if we field like this now, it doesn’t look good. Sometimes it seems we might be taking things too lightly,” Chopra said.
Chopra said only Abhishek looked settled, while others kept losing wickets, expecting someone else to deliver, a mistake against a lower-ranked team like Ireland.
Chopra said India’s shot selection was poor and no one took responsibility. He felt batting depth didn’t help, and both batting and fielding were below par.
He thinks India needs to change its batting approach fast. Starting fearlessly could help them bounce back in the series.
