Chennai Super Kings had a rough start to the tournament, with RR in control from the very first ball. Now, fans are wondering whether CSK can turn things around.
Aakash Chopra criticizes CSK’s batsmen, saying they couldn’t handle the pressure, played poor shots, and their main players didn’t perform when needed.
Chopra pointed out that after losing the toss, CSK struggled as the pitch favoured the bowlers. Archer and Burger bowled brilliantly, and CSK lost four wickets in the power play. He said it’s nearly impossible for any team to recover from such a poor start.
Chopra said CSK kept losing wickets and only scored 127, even though big chases are common now. He questioned Dube’s risky shots after hitting a six; why did he try to hit the next ball as well? Akash also felt the whole batting lineup was too aggressive and made poor choices.
Chopra said CSK’s switch to younger players hurt their consistency. Injuries to key players like Ellis, Dhoni, and Brevis have made things even harder.
Chopra questioned CSK’s auction strategy, asking why they chose so many young players but have only Matthew Short as an overseas batting option besides Dewald Brevis. He wondered if this was the right approach.
The IPL 2026 season rolls on. Can CSK recover, or is this the start of a major downfall? Fans eagerly await the outcome.
