The team which played only one season of IPL, Kochi Tuskers Kerala participated in the tournament in the 2011 edition but was removed from the scenes after that. The Mahela Jayewardene-led team was not so successful but was in talks because of their jersey.
In the 2012 season, they had a turquoise blue colored jersey with grey-colored broad strips on the neck and shoulders. The jersey looked very bright and there were talks about their jerseys as they used a classy and evergreen combination. Sourav Ganguly captained the side in that season who himself was a cricketing icon in India at that time.
KKR used to wear black-colored jerseys in the first two seasons but they decided to change their color in the third season. The Supergiants wore a multi-colored jersey in the 2016 season. The jersey contained pink, purple, blue, and yellow colors and was majorly dominated by the purple color. Their jersey was very vibrant and the different colors grabbed the attention of the cricket fans and were praised. The purple color was there because of the purple logo of the RPSG group.
In the 2021 season of the tournament, KKR came up with very unique and good-looking patterns which stole the limelight of media as well as the cricket fans. The gold-colored shades in their purple-dominated jersey looked very bright and the players looked fabulous in the jersey. It will be interesting to see the KKR’s jersey in the 2022 season.
They are using a blue and gold jersey for a few years but it was very different in the inaugural season of the league. Rajasthan Royals have been a part of IPL since the inaugural season and were the champions in the first season. a Jaipur-based franchise, the Royals have had some legends of the game like Shane Warne and Rahul Dravid. They were removed from the league after the 2015 season because of the spot-fixing scandal. Nevertheless, they made a comeback in the 2018 season.
Yellow color is the biggest identity for Chennai Super Kings alongside their Thala, MS Dhoni. They are wearing yellow-colored jerseys from the start of the tournament. The franchise was missed by their fans for two years and it was an emotional moment when they returned to the scenes in 2018.
The main reason behind the fanbase of RCB is the modern-day legend, Virat Kohli, who has been with the franchise in all the IPL seasons till now and is the only player to play for one team in all the seasons. In the 2016 season, the trademark golden and blue colors in the jersey were replaced by black and a slight shade of grey for the first time.
