Joe Root has scored 13,409 runs in Test cricket and is still going strong at the age of 34.
Root is now second on the all-time Test runs list. Only Sachin Tendulkar, with 15,921 runs, is ahead of him.
He has already gone past Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, and Ricky Ponting in the Test run-scoring charts.
Sachin retired at 40. Root is only 34, giving him time to chase down the record if he stays fit and consistent.
Root continues to score runs across conditions. His hunger and rhythm suggest he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
With 2,500+ runs to go and possibly years left in his career, Root has a real chance to break Tendulkar’s legendary record.
