KKR have got arguably the strongest bowling line-up in IPL 2022. While better performances will be expected from youngster Shivam Mavi. Shivam Mavi is yet to create an impression in the wickets tally.
Varun Chakravarthy went wicketless in the last match but he has picked up one wicket each in the first two games. He would be looking to make a mark in the wickets column against MI
Yadav on the other hand is the Purple Cap holder with eight wickets from three matches including a match-winning fifer against the Punjab Kings. He would be looking forward to increasing his wickets tally.
Tim Southee has taken five wickets from two matches including a three-wicket haul against RCB.
Sunil Narine on the other hand has not got many chances to bat and scored 12 runs against Bangalore. He has been an economical bowler and has registered two scalps to his name. While Narine is known to bamboozle the best in the business with the ball in hand, he is also known for his power-hitting abilities and has played match-defining knocks on many occasions.
Andre Russell has so far turned out to be KKR's savior in the last couple of games. If not for his 18-ball 25, Kolkata would have not got to a respectable total of 128 against RCB but, he roared back to form with an unbeaten 31-ball 70 against PBKS and helped his team get past the finish line chasing 138 before the 15th over.
Rana certainly hasn’t lived up to the expectations so far, scoring just 31 runs in three outings. The southpaw needs to step up sooner than later.
The England international is now the designated wicketkeeper of the team and is likely to get a long run. Billings has played a couple of handy cameos so far but is yet to unleash his best.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been able to make his bat talk so far, accumulating 59 runs in three outings this season. He would certainly like to put up a better show against MI.
Venkatesh Iyer on the other hand seems to be a pale shadow of his 2021 self. He has so far scored a dismal 29 runs in the last three outings this season.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be relying on both their under-fire openers to come good against Mumbai Indians who are desperately searching for their first points. Barring 44 against CSK, Rahane has only managed nine and 12 in the next two games.
