A shocking match-fixing case has surfaced during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, creating panic across Indian domestic cricket.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakuri after evidence of fixing attempts emerged.
Assam Cricket Association confirmed that an FIR has been filed, and the matter is now under legal investigation alongside cricketing action.
The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) probed the incident, which reportedly took place during league-stage matches held between November 26 and December 8 in Lucknow.
The accused players allegedly approached Assam captain Riyan Parag in an attempt to influence matches. Parag promptly reported the approach to the ACSU.
None of the suspended players featured in Assam’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy playing XI, but they allegedly tried to lure current team members, triggering swift action from authorities.
