Vigyan Mane, a childhood friend of Indian women cricketer Smriti Mandhana, has filed a complaint with the Sangli District Superintendent of Police against Bollywood music composer and director Palash Muchhal, alleging financial cheating.
The complaint alleges that Palash Muchhal cheated Vigyan Mane of ₹40 lakh, which was invested in an upcoming film project.
Mane, who is associated with the Marathi film industry as a financier, claims he invested money in Palash’s film titled ‘Nazariya’, after assurances that the amount would be returned once the film released on an OTT platform.
According to the complaint, the film was not completed, and despite repeated follow-ups, the invested money was not returned, prompting Mane to seek legal action.
Vigyan Mane has alleged that Palash Muchhal stopped responding to calls and messages and has even blocked his mobile number, leading to further escalation of the matter.
The Sangli Police have begun investigating the complaint. As of now, Palash Muchhal or his team have not issued any official statement regarding the allegations.
