Bengal’s young talent Priyajit Ghosh, aged just 22, passed away due to a sudden heart attack during a gym session in Bolpur.
Hailing from Birbhum’s Bolpur, Priyajit had dreams of representing Bengal in Ranji Trophy and someday donning the Indian jersey.
Priyajit was more than a player—for him, cricket was a calling. He started early and shone in district-level tournaments.
He was the top scorer in the U-16 inter-district tourney (2018–19) by the Cricket Association of Bengal, earning wide recognition.
Inspired by fitness icons like Virat Kohli, Priyajit was working out when he collapsed. Despite efforts, he couldn't be revived.
His passing has left teammates, coaches, and fans heartbroken. The CAB and local cricket community are in deep mourning.
