A major security breach during the Pakistan Super League had caused concern. In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board has introduced strict new rules.
The controversy involved Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza during their hotel stay, with reports stating that four guests stayed in a player's room without approval until around 12:30 to 1:00 AM..
This was considered a clear breach of PSL security protocols, raising major concerns about player safety, privacy, and unauthorized access.
After the incident, the PCB quickly warned all PSL teams that any future rule-breaking will lead to strict punishment.
Players now have to inform officials 24 hours in advance before meeting any guests. Only close family members are allowed, and they must get official approval first.
Guests are not allowed to stay in players’ rooms beyond the permitted hours under any circumstances. The PCB is enforcing strict discipline and zero tolerance for rule violations for the remainder of the PSL.
