Ravi Shastri’s “Don’t mess with ROKO” message was aimed squarely at critics questioning the ODI future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
He called Rohit and Kohli “legends of ODI cricket” and warned that it’s foolish to doubt players who have delivered for more than a decade.
Shastri’s tone hinted that his harsh words were directed at experts, selectors, and analysts who are raising unnecessary debates about replacing ROKO.
He added that those “messing with” Rohit and Kohli will “soon disappear,” meaning critics will be proven wrong as the duo continues performing.
With Kohli scoring back-to-back centuries and Rohit in strong ODI form, Shastri believes questioning them right now is “nonsense.”
Shastri defended their spot, emphasizing that India will need experienced match-winners like Rohit and Kohli on the road to the 2027 ODI World Cup.
