Shubman Gill forgets to mention Akash Deep in Playing XI during toss vs England

Skipper Shubman Gill continued his toss woes, losing his fifth straight in the England series.

Notably, this was India’s 15th consecutive toss loss in international cricket. Meanwhile, England’s Ollie Pope opted to bowl first.

During the toss, Gill mentioned three team changes in the playing XI with Dhruv Jurel, Karun Nair, and Prasidh Krishna replacing Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, and Jasprit Bumrah for the final Test.

However, the Indian captain forgot to mention one more change, that of Akash Deep replacing Anshul Kamboj, making it a total of four changes, not three, as he claimed during the toss chat.

This omission triggered confusion among fans and commentators, as Akash Deep’s inclusion was only confirmed after the playing XI was officially released following the toss.
