The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged an official complaint with the ICC against India captain Suryakumar Yadav following India’s victories over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.
The complaint relates to statements made by Suryakumar Yadav during post-match presentations and press conferences, which Pakistan claims could damage the image of the game.
India defeated Pakistan in both the group stage and Super Four matches, with on-field tensions including arguments and refusal to shake hands between the teams.
Match referee Richie Richardson informed the Indian team management that after examining PCB submissions, a charge sheet needs to be filed against Suryakumar Yadav.
Suryakumar Yadav will have the option to admit the charges or attend a formal hearing, which will include ICC referees and representatives from BCCI and PCB.
Ban Unlikely: According to the ICC Code of Conduct, the incident is likely considered a Level 1 offence. Level 1 offences do not lead to bans, only fines. So Suryakumar is unlikely to miss the Asia Cup Final, though a monetary penalty could be imposed.
