After losing the 3rd T20I to England, India’s batting came under scrutiny, with many questioning their approach.
Former opener Aakash Chopra was unhappy with India’s batting and felt they missed important chances.
Chopra noted that Harshit Rana coming out in the powerplay showed how badly India’s top order collapsed.
He said the real shock was India’s batting disaster. Falling from 41/2 to all out for just 76, losing five wickets in the Powerplay, and collapsing in only 11.4 overs.
He said Vaibhav hits big sixes but gets out soon after, showing inconsistency, which is expected from his batting style.
He said chasing 200 became harder after Abhishek Sharma got out. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were caught in the deep. Chopra called these soft dismissals and said someone needs to bat longer and take responsibility.
He said losing five wickets in the Powerplay makes it almost impossible to win. After that, wickets fell quickly, and getting all out for 76 after being 41/2 is embarrassing.
With tough matches ahead, can Team India solve their batting problems and come back stronger?
