Cricket welcomes a new format called Test Twenty. It will be the fourth format after Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Test Twenty will have four innings of 20 overs each, similar to Test cricket, but all the action will take place in a single day.

The format is made for young cricketers aged between 13 and 19, helping them gain experience in multi-innings cricket early on.

Teams can use up to five bowlers, each allowed to bowl eight overs. A 75-run lead allows a follow-on, and matches can end in a win, loss, or draw.

Big names like AB de Villiers, Harbhajan Singh, Matthew Hayden, and Clive Lloyd have shown their support for the Test Twenty format.

Test Twenty is set to debut in 2026, offering young cricketers a new platform to experience multi-innings cricket with T20 intensity.
