Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dominated the Zimbabwe series with fearless batting, finishing with several milestones that got cricket fans talking.
At 15 years and 121 days, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became the youngest male to win Player of the Series. He scored a rapid 50 and a solid 81 in Zimbabwe, hitting 15 fours and nine sixes, and helped India win all three matches.
At just 15 years and 118 days, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest ever to hit a half-century in Men’s T20Is, reaching fifty in only 18 balls against Zimbabwe. He broke the previous record held by Gibraltar’s Louis Bruce.
At 15 years and 121 days, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest Indian to win a Player of the Match award for his 81 against Zimbabwe, beating Sachin Tendulkar’s record. He’s also the youngest from a full-member nation to win this honor.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the first cricketer from a full-member nation to score multiple international half-centuries before turning 16, with two fifties in the Zimbabwe series. Only Nepal’s Kushal Malla had done it once at this age.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has hit at least one six in each of his six international innings, showing his rare power. Even when he didn’t score big runs, he kept up his six-hitting streak, with 14 sixes so far.
With so many records already, expectations for Vaibhav are rising fast. If he keeps this up, he could become one of India’s top match-winners in all formats.
