Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi will miss the remainder of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26.
The 14-year-old did not take the field for Bihar in their Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Manipur on December 26.
Vaibhav travelled to Delhi to attend the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar ceremony, where he will be honoured for his achievements.
The ceremony is being held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu will honour the awardees, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi also scheduled to meet them.
After the ceremony, Vaibhav will join India’s Under-19 squad, which will travel to Zimbabwe for preparatory matches ahead of the U19 World Cup.
Before leaving the tournament, Vaibhav smashed 190 off 84 balls against Arunachal Pradesh, becoming the youngest centurion in List-A cricket history.
