With India’s next ODI series scheduled only in June 2026, Kohli will step away from the national team for nearly six months.
Having already retired from T20 Internationals, Kohli will skip the ICC T20 World Cup hosted in India and Sri Lanka.
Kohli’s next competitive appearance will be in IPL 2026, where he is set to spearhead RCB’s batting lineup once again.
Since retiring from Tests in 2025, Kohli will not feature in India’s red-ball assignments, including upcoming overseas tours.
The senior batter is expected to dedicate this period to intense fitness training while also spending quality time with his family.
Kohli is likely to make his international comeback in June–July 2026 during India’s ODI series against Afghanistan and England.
