Young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has caught attention after his U-19 exploits, but he is not eligible for India’s men’s team yet.
As per ICC regulations, a player must be at least 15 years old to play international cricket, including T20Is.
Born on March 27, 2011, Suryavanshi was still 14 years old, making him ineligible under current ICC rules.
The reason is purely age-related, not performance. His record-breaking displays at U-19 level have already impressed experts.
Suryavanshi will become eligible for India’s men’s team once he turns 15, unless the ICC grants a special exemption.
Until then, Suryavanshi will continue his development pathway, with India’s men’s team remaining a realistic next step once rules allow.
