Rahane surprised everyone with a rare angry outburst during the press conference after KKR’s tough run, saying he felt there was an agenda against him.
A reporter asked about his strike rate and intent, but Rahane felt the repeated criticism was unfair and the mood quickly turned tense.
Rahane said, “I have one of the best strike rates since 2023. People criticizing me either aren’t watching the games or just don’t want to see me play.”
Rahane said people are jealous of his success and unfairly criticise his strike rate. He explained that sometimes a batter just doesn’t find rhythm, and those who talk either don’t understand cricket or want him to play differently.
Rahane said he’s glad people are talking about him, whether good or bad, because it means he’s proving himself more than they expected.
With KKR struggling, pressure is on Rahane, but he made it clear he won’t change his game because of criticism; he’ll answer with his performance.
