Yashasvi Jaiswal’s health deteriorated suddenly during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League match between Rajasthan and Mumbai in Pune.
The Indian opener experienced severe stomach pain while batting, but still managed to open the innings and shared a 42-run partnership with Ajinkya Rahane.
His condition worsened after the match, following which he was rushed to Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad and admitted to the emergency ward.
Medical scans (USG and CT) revealed swelling in the intestines, prompting immediate treatment by a team of gastroenterologists.
Doctors confirmed that Jaiswal is suffering from acute gastroenteritis, a common stomach infection caused by viral or bacterial infection.
His condition is currently stable, and he is being treated with medicines to prevent dehydration and reduce pain; doctors expect recovery within a few days.
