Pakistan’s victory upsets India’s chances, major shake-up in WTC Points Table

Pakistan defeated defending champions South Africa in the first Test of the 2025–27 World Test Championship at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

This win caused a major reshuffle in the WTC rankings, directly impacting India’s position in the standings.

With this victory, Pakistan climbed to No. 2 on the WTC Points Table under the captaincy of Shan Masood.

Despite winning the Test series 2–0 against West Indies, India dropped from third to fourth place after Pakistan’s win.

Australia remains on top of the WTC Points Table with 36 points after winning all three of their matches so far.
