Afghanistan’s Wahidullah Zadran is the youngest player in the auction, aged 18 years and 31 days on auction day (December 16).
The uncapped pacer has a base price of just ₹30 lakh, despite picking up 28 wickets in 19 T20 matches with an impressive 6.72 economy rate.
As per the shortlist released by BCCI, there are no players born in 2008 or later in the IPL 2026 mini auction pool.
All-rounder Jalaj Saxena is the oldest player listed. He turns 39 on auction day, making him the senior-most contender.
Despite vast domestic experience, Jalaj Saxena’s base price is only ₹40 lakh, and he remains an uncapped player in the IPL auction.
The youngest-ever IPL player remains Vaibhav Suryavanshi, bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore last year, while Jalaj Saxena’s only IPL appearance came for Delhi Capitals in 2021.
