The Indian team got back to being their best against Australia in the Rajkot ODI. They had been beaten and humiliated by 10 wickets in Mumbai by Warner and Finch, who made centuries and broke numerous records. India was also hampered with their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah coming back from injury and looking rusty and struggled to get the line and length correct.

Things got a bit better in second ODI in Rajkot, where the Indian team dominated the Kangaroos making 340 runs and winning by a relatively comfortable margin. Though batsmen Shikhar Dhawan (96), Kohli (78) and Rahul (80) walked away with the accolades, it was the bowlers, who persisted with wicket-taking lines and lengths as Shami picked three wickets and Saini, Kuldeep and Jadeja picking two each; Bumrah picked the last wicket to finish the game.

Fan says he can bowl like Bumrah; ICC demands proof

The Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who is in the ICC top 10 bowlers’ rankings in Tests and ODIs, has been a revelation so far for the Men in Blue. He was terrific for them in the 2019 World Cup and before the back injury hurt him, he was one of the leading wicket-takers in the international cricket for the year 2019. However, the right-arm quick, got a challenge from a spectator in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the third and final ODI between India and Australia.

A fan was seen holding a placard that read, “I can bowl like Bumrah”. However, the ICC decided to have some fun with the fan and tweeted writing,” We’d like to see video proof #INDvAUS”

Meanwhile, in the ongoing encounter, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first on a good-looking wicket. Mohammed Shami got rid of David Warner (9) early and a comical mix up between Finch (19) and Smith, sent back the Kangaroos’ captain back to the pavilion just when he was started to look good. Marnus Labuschagne made his maiden half-century in ODIs, before falling to Jadeja, who then removed Starc, who got a promotion, in the same over. Kuldeep Yadav later picked the wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey for 35 runs.
